AFPM 2026: Integra Discusses Global Maritime Choke Points
Some conferences unfold as planned. AFPM 2026 in San Antonio did not — A war in the Middle East and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz weren’t on the agenda. But they became the conversation — rightfully so.
As our CEO shared during the World Petrochemical Conference panel the week before, when Covid disrupted global supply chains, a great fuss was made about supply chain diversity — then markets normalised, and the lessons were forgotten within months.
This time feels different.
With 8 maritime choke points globally, and disruption in recent years at three — Hormuz, Suez, and Panama — the vulnerability is no longer theoretical. The discussions at AFPM reflected that urgency. Conversations were more strategic than usual.
That’s the real value of gathering with a large network of partners and peers at events like AFPM — one idea built together, can at times lead to big differences going forward.
We expect to see more attention on:
· Regional and transnational pipeline investment.
· Strategic stock reviews and government-level storage planning.
· More Focus on route diversification.

Oil & Gas Middle East Awards 2026 – Lifetime Achievement Award
From her early days at ExxonMobil to helping launch the first KEMYA project in Saudi Arabia, Gina Fyffe has been deeply involved in the Middle East oil, gas and petrochemical industry for nearly five decades.
So, it was both fitting and exciting when, at the Oil & Gas Middle East Awards 2026, she was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The jury recognised her nearly five decades in the industry and, in their words, her ability to “drive long-term value while inspiring the next generation of energy leaders” — a well-deserved acknowledgement of everything she has built and continues to build.
